BEIJING, April 16, 2019 ，The Fifth China Quality and Integrity Brand Forum, hosted by the China Quality Promotion Association, under the aegis of the State Administration for Market Regulation, was held in Beijing on March 14. The forum, themed "share high-quality development cases, spread brand idea of new era", focused on discussing best practices for building strong, high-quality and trustworthy brands, driving brand promotion and transforming China into a country that produces and provides the best of quality products and services in the new circumstance.
The results of quality and trustworthiness inspection throughout 2018 of Chinas makers and service providers based on secret inquiry to their premises as well as its result which announced excellent firms were presented at the forum. Hitachi Elevator was again appraised the Five-Star Service Quality award, making it the only company in Chinas elevator industry which has been awarded for four consecutive years.
In 2018, Hitachi Elevator signed contracts for about 87,000 units ,installed more than 73,000 units and had more than 300,000 elevators under warranty across China. With the aim of driving high-quality development ofthe sector, the company adopts an independent intersystem data connection across the entire cycle, from pre-sale services to design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance and after-sale services, through the application of business visualization and industrial robots, as well as information technologies including Internet+ (the Chinese governments drive to stimulate the application of the internet in conventional industries), big data and cloud computing.
Hitachi Elevator has equipped all its factories with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES). In the process of product manufacturing, the company ensures the quality of its elevators through large-scale high-precision smart systems. Each component has its own serial number in the form of QR code, enabling full traceability and data storage records to ensure product quality across the entire lifecycle.
Meanwhile, through the introduction of Hitachi Groups advanced management methods such as the Internet of Things (IoT) to strengthen investment in automation and intelligent equipment, as well as the optimization of manufacturing processes to achieve excellence in productionThe company expects to achieve successful implementation of intelligent manufacturing across the elevator sector.
Once Chinas elevator market enters a stable period of growth, follow-up services such as repair, maintenance and upgrading can be expected to become new business growth points in the "post-elevator era". The last Central Economic Work Conference, the annual state-level meeting which sets the agenda for Chinas economy, which was held in January 2019, proposed to promote the development of a manufacturing sector focused on best of quality products and services.
