Upholding the philosophy established in the China Business Strategy 20181 of “contributing to society through excellent patent technology and product development”, Hitachi defined two social and innovative pillars: to bolster product manufacturing and to enlarge the company footprint in China. Therefore, the growth goal includes not only the revenue target of RMB10 billion, but also to contribute to society through innovative enterprises. We have been creating new value through building intelligence, remote surveillance, and cloud services while our CSR programs help accelerate the sustainability of society today.
A major aspect of sustainability is to coordinate the surrounding resources and launch pioneering activities. Through concerted innovation, Hitachi hopes to solve problems concerning the livelihood of people, such as elevator safety, elevator service, and elevator retrofitting and provide new value for social development. For example, Hitachi and AQSIQ (Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine) have jointly launched an elevator safety regulation reform and innovation pilot in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, equipped Chow Tai Fook International Financial Center in Guangzhou with the fastest elevator technology in the world, and assisted the Liwan District and Yuexiu district governments in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province with the establishment of service centers for elevator retrofitting in old buildings. In addition, we have been strategically investing in the community civilization incubating program, and promoting public safety in thousands of schools, communities, and business districts. Through cooperation with universities, schools, and the Golden Autumn Education Fund, we have provided tens of thousands of college and occupational students with skills training and employment support.
The resources from society will eventually be returned to society. In unison with our employees, partners, and other stakeholders, we are working to solve the industrial shortage in public services. We have defined the three main topics of public welfare activities: education, environment, and society. We have been involved in environmental protection and targeted anti-poverty charitable projects with Alashan SEE, Siyuan Poverty Alleviation Fund, and other partners. We wish many more partners will join us to be a public service conscious innovator promoting the sustainable development of cities and communities.
